Sara studied a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood at New Zealand Teritary College. Later she went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, focusing on educational leadership. Sara has eight years experience working in Early Years and has been responsible for teaching children, ranging from the age of four months old to five years old.
In New Zealand Sara followed a very unique curriculum which acknowledges and supports multi-cultural backgrounds and focuses on children’s holistic needs. This experience in teaching through a curriculum that supports multi-culturalism, has prepared her for classrooms with diverse learners and backgrounds.
Sara has experience teaching in a play-based environment which allows children to learn through inquiry and promotes children to investigate the unknown. Sara beleives that through a philosophy which empowers children, she is able to set each child up with a positive foundation for future learning. This is why Sara was very excited to join Huili Nursery and be apart of a positive learning environment for children.
Sara is passionate about the outdoors and exploring nature. During her personal time she enjoys hiking and taking photos of beautiful scenery. Sara also loves to travel and learn about different cultures. She hopes to share her passions with her students, especially through outdoor learning.
