All pupils are winners in the Sports Day events!

The most exciting thing in Huili Nursery this week must be the Sports Day. Pupils of EY3 and EY4 had their Sports Day on Monday in the gymnasium, while on Tuesday Pupils of EY1 and EY2 had their Sports Day in the same place.

Getting our young pupils involved and interested in sports events is our priority. The competing events we chose are fun, safe and easy to participate in, such as obstacle courses, ball skill games, balancing and teamwork games.

The spirit of friendly competition is also embedded in pupils’ mind as they participate in all the events with great enthusiasm. While pupils cheered for their teammates, they also learnt valuable lessons in sportsmanship.

Our main objective of holding the Sports Day is to empower our pupils with resilience and courage, and train them to carry on a task under guidelines and requirements. The Sports Day was filled with laughter, inspiration and joy. Here are some highlights.

  • Pupils had lots of fun participating in the sports events;
  • Pupils learned about the enjoyment of competition;
  • Pupils built on positive associations with participating in games;
  • Pupils built various gross motor skills in preparation for and on the Sports Day itself;
  • Pupils experienced team spirit and the value of supporting and appreciating their competitors;
  • Parents enjoyed a wonderful and exciting time with their children

Many parents participated in the Sports Day. Noticeably, the race between our teachers and parents was a hit. While they were competing, our pupils were cheering for them.

On behalf of the whole Nursery team, I would like to thank our parents for taking time out to support the event and cheer for our pupils. Lots of parents told us that they had a lovely day while watching their children participating in sports event with focus and determination.

We would also like to thank all our teachers and staff members for their efforts in preparing for the Sport Day.

Most importantly, we want to thank our wonderful pupils for demonstrating courage, a key Huili value. Regardless of the result, all our pupils are winners for actively engaging in the competition and trying their best.

Thank you once again for creating such an unforgettable day with us.
