Angela Hasselkvist

Angela qualified as a teacher over twenty years ago in the UK and has gained a breadth of experience in the primary age range, teaching years 1- 7 in three international schools: Stockholm, Damascus and Doha, as well as in Manchester, England. For seven years Angela has worked within the Swedish education system, teaching English as a second language to Swedish children.
At university she gained a degree in History and then completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education to become a teacher. Angela is passionate about helping all the children in her class develop a love of learning and believes that education should be fun. Angela has experienced being part of a new team in a start-up school and loves being part of the Huili team, with a shared vision of learning, working together to help the school to grow and develop.
Outside the classroom, Angela enjoys travelling and has so far visited 56 countries. She is a very active person and enjoys walking, yoga and training in the gym. She recently competed in her first half marathon and plans to run a marathon sometime soon. Angela has been fascinated by Chinese history and culture for many years. Twenty years ago, she spent two months travelling around China and even met her Swedish husband whilst in Hangzhou!
Angela has come to China with her husband and two children, aged 10 and 12, both of whom have dual English/ Swedish citizenship.
