Erica Yang

Erica completed her Graduation Diploma in Early Childhood Education from the New Zealand Tertiary College and has obtained her Full Teacher Registration. She has been teaching for 5 years in New Zealand and has worked in the early childhood education centres that are professional leaders in ECE field. She has supported the centre managers via training new teachers, being a keen contributor in planning for and integrating the learning programme. The Reggio Emilia Approach has influenced her in many ways especially in her personal philosophy and teaching practices. She believes that every child is a capable and unique individual who is rich in resources. She is striving to create a respectful, inclusive and inspiring learning environment for children through trusted relationships.
From her teaching roles, she discovered a warm, committed and passionate disposition of herself along with a genuine love for different age groups. She cherishes the opportunities of learning alongside the children as she views herself to be life-long learner.
As a teacher who comes from Chinese cultural background, she celebrates cultural diversity and strives to foster a positive self-identity of each child. Her overseas experience also provides her with unique cross-cultural communication skills, and an ability to understand, support and relate openly with parents through professional relationships.
Erica loves working in a team and she is inspired to be a cheerful, reliable and trustworthy team member.
