Mark Antony Barlow

Mark completed his degree at Staffordshire University in 1994 and went on to conduct research towards a PhD, whilst tutoring Level 1 students and serving as the Academic Warden for the Halls of Residence. Following the completion of his PGCE in 1998, Mark has enjoyed a successful career in schools in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, achieving the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers in 2007 and beginning his first headship in 2009. Mark’s school leadership culminated in an Executive Headship in 2018 which saw rapid school improvement secured and recognised by Ofsted (May 2019). Since 2014 Mark has served as the Chair of the Stoke-on-Trent Headteachers Association and represented the views of Headteachers at local and regional levels with a real passion for securing the approaches and resources required to improve the lives and life chances of children and young people in Stoke-on-Trent. Mark has also represented the views of schools on DfE Opportunity Area Panels, West Midlands PREVENT Panel, Stoke-on-Trent’s Patenting Strategy Group and the Local Authority Assistant Director’s Extended Management Team.
