Samuel Miller

Samuel attained a BA in English Literature from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, in England. He also successfully achieved a PGCE from Sunderland University. Samuel has eight years of experience teaching in primary schools.

Samuel is from Leeds, England and has happily lived in China for nine years with his wife Li. He has had broad experience teaching in local and private schools in Shanghai. He began teaching conversational English to grades 4 and 5 in PengPuXinChun number 1 school, as well as teaching science in privately owned Chinese schools. Samuel joined international teaching in 2013 when he became a teacher at Shanghai United International School (XieHe). Samuel moved to Wellington College International Shanghai in 2016, as a year 3 teacher.

Samuel has enjoyed many years teaching English and IPC in primary. He believes learning should be engaging, challenging and always rewarding. Along with having a love of teaching, Samuel has often been recognized as having outstanding pastoral care for his pupils, and will go to great lengths to support their development. Samuel has also been a boarding house tutor at Wellington College International Shanghai for the previous two years.

Samuel enjoys driving and has had a number of holidays on the road, recently travelling around New Zealand and Wales. He has a love of travelling which has grown during his time in China. During his travels, Samuel has found a love of photography and enjoys capturing scenery and architecture.

Samuel is proud to continue his teaching career by joining Wellington College Hangzhou.
